In Fredericia Municipality, we are collecting food waste and residual waste at your home. It is important to us, that you know how to sort correctly in order for us to contribute to a better environment. For that reason, we are introducing our waste handling below.

Food waste
Food waste is all organic waste from your kitchen and cooking. Food waste is raw, cooked and tainted food. That includes potato peelings, coffee grounds, tea bags and eggshells, but also grease, meat, bones, bread, cake etc. Garden waste is not allowed in the bin and can be delivered at the recycling station.
Residual waste
Residual waste is the waste that is left when you have sorted into the recycling fractions. Examples of residual waste is:
- Wet and dirty paper
- Dirty plastic packaging
- Diapers
- Sanitary towels
- Dust bags
Recycling
In Fredericia, it is possible to have your recycling collected at your house. If you want it collected, you must sort into clear bags and place them by the boundary on the collection day. If you live in an apartment your property owner are responsible for disposing recycling options.

Welcome package
If you have recently moved to the municipality or switched from one waste collection system to another, you can come and pick up a welcome package at the administration office on Nordre Kobbelvej 9.
The welcome package includes:
- An information brochure about your waste collection system.
- A sorting guide for hanging up.
- Stickers with pictograms for indoor sorting.
